A federal judge has set a trial date for former DuBois City Manager John “Herm” Suplizio, with jury selection scheduled for June 1 and proceedings to begin June 2.
WJAC News reports, the timeline comes about two and a half years after Suplizio and co-defendant Roberta Shaffer were indicted on multiple theft charges tied to alleged misuse of public and nonprofit funds.
In a separate ruling, the court approved prosecutors’ request to use tax records as evidence, despite their typical confidentiality, citing the government’s obligation to share materials with the defense.
