Zachary W. Steele, 37, of Rimersburg, is charged with resisting arrest and flight to avoid apprehension after deputies said he refused commands and struggled with officers while holding a power drill during an encounter at a Lawsonham Road residence in Madison Township.
According to ExploreClarion.Com, Steele was taken to the ground and disarmed after failing to comply with orders to drop the tool, which officers said posed a risk of injury. Authorities said Steele had been listed as an absconder by Pennsylvania State Parole since August 2025 and acknowledged an outstanding warrant.
Bail was set at $15,000, and he remains lodged in the Clarion County Jail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled Feb. 24 before Jeffrey C. Miller.
