A 34-year-old Clarion man has been charged after state police said he fired a handgun into the air while intoxicated and allowed two young children to discharge the weapon outside a residential home early Tuesday morning.
Dustin Michael Matson was arrested after troopers responded to reports of multiple gunshots and found him holding a handgun with two juveniles nearby, authorities said. Police allege one child fired the gun about four times and another fired it twice. Matson faces felony counts of endangering the welfare of children and misdemeanor reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.
Matson is being held in the Clarion County Jail on $45,000 bail, with a preliminary hearing scheduled Feb. 24 before Timothy P. Schill.
