Newly seated Bell Township supervisors convened a reorganization meeting Thursday after a wave of sudden resignations by former officials left the township without a quorum and temporarily locked out of its municipal building.
In today’s Punxsutawney Spirit, Chairman Doug Horne said state police are involved in reviewing recent events that could lead to charges, though details were not disclosed.
Horne and Vice Chairman John Keslar, appointed by a county judge, named Denny Covatch as the third supervisor, moved to restore access to township systems, and secured assistance from neighboring municipalities to ensure roads remain serviced despite depleted supplies.
