Clairton kicked off championship weekend Thursday with a dominant 35–3 win over Bishop Guilfoyle in the Class 1A final, while Southern Lehigh closed the night by powering past Twin Valley 43–21 to claim the 4A crown.
Tonight’s action will feature Farrell Steelers vs. Southern Columbia Tigers in the Class 2A final, followed by Bishop McDevitt Crusaders vs. Roman Catholic Cahillites battling for the 5A title.
Then Saturday brings two more showdowns. At 1:00 p.m., undefeated Avonworth Antelopes face defending champ Northwestern Lehigh Tigers for the 3A crown — a rematch with big bragging rights.
