Clearfield County Commissioner Dave Glass has withdrawn his support for the ICE processing facility at the Moshannon Valley Processing Center, citing concerns over what he called “brutal and immoral” tactics by ICE agents.
According to WTAJ News, Glass, who previously backed the GEO Group–operated facility, said he now believes the agency’s methods warrant investigation but noted he only holds one vote on the county board.
Commissioners Tim Winters and John Sobel added that contract renewal talks have not begun and that the facility could continue operating with federal backing regardless of the county’s decision.
