A Ridgway man is jailed on arson charges after an early morning fire displaced six people Thursday on West Main Street.
Police say 30-year-old Seth Rung set fire to his bedroom around 5 a.m., shortly after he was seen waving a knife and yelling at tenants. Officers arriving on a disturbance call noticed flames and rescued Rung and other residents as the fire spread through the building.
No injuries were reported, but the apartment building sustained heavy damage. Rung is being held in Elk County Jail on $250,000 bail, facing multiple counts of arson and reckless endangerment.
