Reynoldsville Borough Council met last night and learned the process of turning the park over to the fire department can move forward.
Borough Solicitor Joe Ryan told the council he had received word from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) to go ahead with the transfer.
“Everything we submitted to them they’ve approved,” Ryan said.
Ryan said the next thing that has to happen is preparing the deeds for transfer, including the restrictive covenants that meet DCNR requirements. He said that the process could take a couple of weeks, but because of the precise language necessary on the restrictive covenants, he couldn’t guarantee it. Reynoldsville Fire Department Chief Darren Scolese said the department has a number of plans, including redoing the bleachers at the Falcon Football Field.
If the deed process is finalized in a timely manner, it is hoped the bleachers will be completed in time for the new season.
