Overnight construction along Main Street in downtown Clarion has prompted temporary “No Parking” restrictions and confusion among downtown motorists and business owners, according to local officials and merchants.
Exploreclarion.com is reporting Clarion Police Chief Bill Peck said the borough, working with contractors, has implemented block-by-block parking restrictions from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. in active construction zones to keep street areas clear for crews, while metered parking remains available during the day once restrictions are lifted. Some business owners said unclear or handwritten signage has led to frequent customer confusion and concerns about potential tickets.
Officials with Clarion Police and Clarion Borough said the measures are necessary for safety and to allow work to proceed as crews continue moving through downtown Clarion block by block.
