A house in Brookville Borough was destroyed by a fire Wednesday afternoon after flames engulfed the Maple Street residence.
WTAJ News reports firefighters responded to the third-alarm blaze shortly after 12:30 p.m. and spent about 90 minutes bringing it under control. Officials said a woman was rescued from the back roof of the home by bystanders before crews arrived. No injuries were reported.
A fire marshal said preliminary findings indicate the fire was accidental, and the home was declared a total loss.
