District 9 baseball champions were crowned Wednesday as Karns City Gremlins rallied past Brookville Raiders 8-6 to capture the Class 3A title, while Clearfield Bison edged Punxsutawney Chucks 4-3 in the Class 4A championship game.
In softball semifinal action, DuBois Central Catholic Cardinals defeated Elk County Catholic Crusaders 8-1 and Curwensville Golden Tide shut out Northern Potter Panthers 3-0 in Class 1A, while in Class 2A, Brockway Rovers outlasted Keystone Panthers 11-9 and Cranberry Berries rolled past Moniteau Warriors 10-0 in six innings. The District 8/9 baseball subregional between DuBois Beavers and Allderdice Dragons was postponed until Thursday.
