A Jefferson County man is facing multiple felony charges after Pennsylvania State Police said he sexually assaulted a girl under the age of 16 in 2022.
According to WTAJ News, Charles Douglas Powell is accused of assaulting the victim after inviting her to a living room while she was staying overnight at a friend’s home. The victim told investigators she repeatedly asked him to stop during the encounter. Authorities say the case resurfaced in April 2026 when the victim reported concerns that Powell may have been grooming another minor and provided a recorded phone call in which he allegedly made incriminating statements.
Powell has been charged with five felonies, including statutory sexual assault and corruption of minors, and was released after posting 10% of $50,000 bail.
