A 21-year-old Boalsburg man is facing multiple felony charges after authorities say he assaulted corrections officers in two separate incidents at the Jefferson County Jail.
According to state police, Steven Christopher McGovern allegedly kicked an officer and attempted to bite another during a September 2025 altercation, and later struck a supervisor several times in March 2026 after refusing orders to return to his cell.
He is charged with three counts of assault by a prisoner and summary harassment offenses, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for June 10, court records show.
