A 22-year-old Mayport man is facing multiple charges, including a felony, after allegedly leading police on a high-speed chase that ended in a crash early Tuesday in Jefferson County.
ExploreClarion.Com reports, Dominick E. Angelo fled officers on State Route 28 at speeds up to 85 mph after being spotted driving erratically, eventually crashing his vehicle into a utility pole in Clover Township. Police reported signs of intoxication, including the smell of alcohol and slurred speech, and said Angelo later refused a blood draw at Penn Highlands DuBois.
Angelo is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, DUI and several summary traffic violations, and was released on $30,000 unsecured bail.
