A 21-year-old Brookville man was cited after crashing his vehicle while attempting to avoid a deer in Jefferson County, according to state police.
Authorities said Jacob L. Hetager was driving a 2013 Subaru Legacy south on Markton Road around 5:24 p.m. March 18 when a deer entered the roadway, prompting him to swerve and lose control before striking a tree. Police said Hetager, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured.
Hetager was cited for failure to drive within a single lane and arranged for the vehicle to be towed.
