Authorities filed criminal charges Thursday against Bette Lee McKenna, 86, of Tarentum, in connection with a fatal April 2025 crash on Route 66 in Farmington Township that killed two Leechburg residents.
ExploreClarion.Com reports, McKenna turned left into the path of an oncoming motorcycle, striking it head-on and killing operator Robert Zanotto, 71, and passenger Cheryl Zanotto, 66. Investigators said road and weather conditions were clear and toxicology tests were negative for drugs or alcohol.
McKenna is charged with multiple misdemeanor and summary traffic offenses, including recklessly endangering another person, and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing March 10 before Timothy P. Schill.
