Voters in DuBois and Sandy Township will make history on Nov. 4 when they elect the first city council for the newly consolidated City of DuBois.
Seven of 12 candidates will be chosen, with the top five serving four-year terms and the remaining two serving two-year terms. Once seated, the new council will select a mayor and hire a city manager.
Interim co-manager Benjamin Kafferlin said the merger marks just the third successful municipal consolidation in Pennsylvania since the 1994 Merger Act.
