Punxsutawney firefighters had a busy weekend in Bell Township after a brush fire destroyed a wooden stable on Moonlit Lane Sunday afternoon.
The Punxsutawney Spirit reports the blaze occurred around 4:22 p.m.and quickly spread to consumed the structure. Firefighters from Punxsutawney’s Central, Elk Run, and Lindsey companies responded, along with mutual aid from McCalmont, Big Run, and Sykesville.
With no hydrants nearby, crews relied on brush trucks, tankers, and forestry hose to bring the fire under control.
No injuries were reported.
