A Jefferson County woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly threatening to shoot two people during a custody exchange outside her home in July.
Punxsutawney-based State Police say 38-year-old Cari Alison Baird, of Knox Township, was charged Aug. 8. According to ExploreJeffersonPA.Com, a criminal complaint, PSP responded around 9:55 a.m. July 19 to Baird’s Knox Township residence for a reported disturbance. Police say a woman arrived to pick up her son when Baird, who was standing on her porch, allegedly refused to hand over the child and threatened to shoot her if she didn’t leave. The woman reported seeing a silver pistol on Baird’s hip and stepped away to call 911. Baird allegedly admitted to being armed with a 9mm handgun, saying she told the individuals to leave or “she could shoot them.” She also said she had an unloaded rifle nearby.
Baird’s preliminary hearing, has been rescheduled for Nov. 17
