56 year old David Wayne Patterson from Missouri faces serious charges after attempting to meet up with who he thought was a 15-year-old girl in Punxsutawney.
According to today’s Punxsutawney Spirit, he communicated with an undercover member of 814 Pred Hunters, a group posing as minors online to catch predators. Patterson’s messages showed he knew he was talking to a minor but continued to discuss sexual matters and arranged a meet-up.
Police arrested him when he arrived at the agreed location and found an unlicensed firearm in his possession. He’s currently in jail awaiting a preliminary hearing.
