The Penguins were in desperate need of points in their chase to make the Eastern Conference playoffs, and they got two of them last night. Paul Steigerwald has the recap.(4-1 Penguins win)
During the game, Penguins president Kyle Dubas made a trade with Columbus, acquiring forward Emil Bemstrom from the Blue Jackets for forward Alex Nylander and a conditional 6th round 2026 draft pick. If Bemstrom scores six goals with the Penguins before the season ends, the 6th round pick becomes a 3rd round pick.
Bemstrom had 5 goals and 6 assists in 32 games with Columbus this season. He has 31 goals and 38 assists in parts of four seasons in the NHL.
Pens forward Colin White was claimed off waivers yesterday by the team the Penguins played last night…Montreal. He played 11 minutes and 11 seconds for the Canadiens last night with one shot, one hit, and he was a plus-1.
The Pens play the Flyers at PPG Paints Arena on Sunday afternoon.
