Pennsylvania State Police based in DuBois responded to an accident that occurred in the early morning hours of March 14th in Washington Township of Jefferson County.
According to reports, around 3:30 am, 49-year-old John Feists of Dundee, Michigan was driving a tractor-trailer eastbound on I-80 on the snow-covered and slushy road. Unfortunately, he slid off the roadway, causing him to lose control of his tractor-trailer, which subsequently jackknifed. The vehicle then came to an uncontrolled final rest, blocking both lanes of traffic.
Fortunately, Feist was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was uninjured. The accident caused significant delays for motorists traveling in the area.
